Its primary function is to automatically exhaust trapped air from a system while it is filling with water and to continue bleeding air bubbles that release during operation. Removing air is essential to prevent “air locking,” reduce noise (gurgling), and protect components like pumps and radiators from cavitation and corrosion.

Description
The 1 inch Brass Air Bleeding Valve PN16 (also known as an Automatic Air Vent) is a critical safety and efficiency component for hydronic piping systems. Its primary function is to automatically exhaust trapped air from a system while it is filling with water and to continue bleeding air bubbles that release during operation. Removing air is essential to prevent “air locking,” reduce noise (gurgling), and protect components like pumps and radiators from cavitation and corrosion.
This valve operates using a high-buoyancy internal float mechanism. As air accumulates in the valve chamber, the water level drops, causing the float to fall and open the vent seat to release the air. Once the air is expelled, the water level rises, lifting the float and sealing the vent to prevent liquid leakage. Constructed from robust forged brass with a PN16 rating, it is designed for long-term durability in both residential heating circuits and industrial chilled water systems.
