The Apollo ORB-OP-42001-MAR is an optical smoke detector engineered for conventional marine fire protection systems operating on ships, vessels, and offshore platforms. Built to withstand extreme environmental conditions, vibrations, and high humidity, the detector uses an open-chamber light-scattering sensor coupled with Apollo’s proprietary Time-Sense software algorithm. This technology differentiates between transient environmental disturbances and real fire phenomena, significantly cutting false alarms. The unit includes automatic drift compensation to dynamically adjust sensitivity thresholds as salt, dust, and moisture accumulate, a flashing Start-Up status LED, 360-degree visible alarm indicators, and full MED (Marine Equipment Directive), DNV, ABS, and Lloyd’s Register approvals.
