Operating independently of AC mains power via a single 9V battery, it includes an 85dB piezo horn at 10 feet, a combined Test/Silence (Hush) button for verifying operation or hushing non-emergency alarms, a low-battery warning chirp, and a hinged cover that allows direct battery swapping without detaching the mounting bracket.
