The Cooper CPD321 (cross-referenced under model numbers EXFN533 and MPD821) is an open-area conventional optical photoelectric smoke detector engineered for commercial, industrial, and institutional fire safety applications. Built around a light-scattering optical chamber, the detector uses an internal infrared light source and photodiode sensor to detect visible smoke particles produced by slow-smoldering fires involving wood, furnishings, or PVC wiring. Operating on a nominal 24V DC conventional zone loop (15V to 30V DC), the detector features an omnidirectional red status LED for visual monitoring, a remote indicator output terminal, a removable chamber cover for field maintenance, and an anti-tamper locking mechanism when mated with standard Cooper mounting bases.
