The EDA-R5000 is an advanced wireless optical smoke sensor built on Electro Detectors’ Zerio Plus addressable radio platform. Engineered for seamless deployment in historic buildings, commercial properties, and sensitive refurbishment projects where running physical cable is impractical, the detector operates on license-free 868 MHz radio frequencies. Utilizing a high-precision photoelectric sensing chamber, it continually samples ambient air to provide rapid notification of slow-smoldering fires while maintaining high resilience against false alarms. The EDA-R5000 features automatic drift compensation, sophisticated multi-path signal monitoring to guarantee communication continuity with the main panel, and simple soft-addressing capability. Powered by a self-contained lithium battery pack providing up to 7 years of operational life, the unit fully complies with EN54-7 and EN54-25 standards.
