The Hochiki FB-1 Firebeam Detector set is a high-performance linear optical smoke detection system designed by Hochiki for challenging, high-ceiling indoor environments such as sports halls, warehouses, auditoriums, shopping centers, and historical structures. Using an advanced motorized optical transceiver and an invisible infrared beam, the system projects light to the included reflector, which returns the beam for real-time smoke obscuration analysis. The FB-1 features a ground-level controller connected via a simple multi-core cable, allowing installation engineers and maintenance staff to fully align, commission, test, and adjust detector sensitivity from ground level without needing high-access platforms or ladders. Utilizing motorized auto-alignment technology, the optical head automatically re-aligns itself to compensate for building movement, thermal expansion, or structural settling over time.
