The Hochiki YBN-R/4(IS) (Part Number: YBN-R/4(IS)) is a low-profile, conventional mounting base engineered by Hochiki for use in hazardous environments requiring intrinsically safe (IS) fire detection. Designed specifically to interface with Hochiki’s CDX range of intrinsically safe detectors (such as the SLR-E-IS optical smoke detector and DCD-1E-IS heat detector), the base connects through a suitable galvanically isolated barrier to ensure safe operation in explosive atmospheres. It features dedicated screw terminals for zone wiring, cable screen continuity, and driving an external remote alarm LED indicator. Constructed from high-impact, flame-retardant ABS plastic, the base includes low-resistance stainless steel contact springs and an optional anti-tamper locking mechanism to guarantee long-term operational integrity and secure head retention.
