Description
The Minerva MR601TEx is a high-performance, plug-in conventional optical smoke detector designed for ceiling-mounted surface installation in hazardous, potentially explosive environments. Operating as an intrinsically safe device when wired through a galvanically isolated barrier or shunt diode system, the unit features an advanced light-scattering optical chamber paired with a rate-of-rise thermistor bridge. Under standard conditions, it functions as a low-nuisance photoelectric smoke detector. If a rapid rise in ambient temperature is detected, the microprocessor automatically boosts optical chamber sensitivity, allowing standard optical technology to rapidly detect clear-burning and fast-flaming fires. Housed in flame-retardant white plastic, the detector plugs into the 5BEx base and holds ATEX and IECEx certifications for Zone 0 gas and Zone 20 dust environments.
