Model EA Water Motor Alarm Gong 8″ FM Approved, UL Listed

The Rapidrop Model EA Water Motor Alarm Gong is a self-contained, hydraulically actuated mechanical warning device designed to deliver emergency audio signaling independently of electrical power supplies. Built primarily for wall or direct pipe mounting configurations, the unit utilizes a corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy gong shell, motor housing, and protective cover coated in a high-visibility red epoxy finish. When a downstream automatic fire sprinkler fuses, water shifts through the core alarm check valve trim and enters the Model EA housing under pressure through a 3/4-inch inlet. The specialized internal nozzle creates a high-velocity fluid jet that spins a lightweight, non-metallic pelton wheel impeller. This energy-efficient rotation turns a central stainless steel drive shaft, forcing an external striker arm assembly to continuously hit the 8-inch aluminum gong dome. Expended water then exits through an unrestricted 1-inch bottom drain outlet to the atmosphere.
