The Omex OM-0311-2 is a reliable, high-sensitivity smoke sensor utilizing an infrared light-scattering (photoelectric) chamber. It is a “conventional” or “non-addressable” device, making it compatible with a wide range of standard fire alarm control panels from various manufacturers. The detector is particularly effective at detecting large-particle smoke typically produced by smoldering materials like furniture, foam, and cables. It comes complete with a twist-lock base, which simplifies the wiring process?the base is wired to the ceiling first, and the detector head is simply rotated into place during final commissioning.
