The Potter CPS-24 is a low-profile, open-area conventional optical photoelectric smoke detector engineered for commercial, industrial, and institutional fire alarm systems. Built with a computer-designed optical sensing chamber utilizing a GaAlAs infrared LED and silicon photodiode, it is optimized to catch both slow smoldering fires and fast-flaming combustion. The detector features a built-in automatic sensitivity verification test that continually monitors drift compliance with NFPA 72 requirements, signaling status via a bi-color status LED (flashing green in normal standby, flashing red for out-of-spec sensitivity, and steady red in alarm). Operates on a wide 8V to 35V DC working voltage range and installs onto standard Potter SB series mounting bases.
