Description
The Potter PS40-2 Supervisory Pressure Switch provides system monitoring for dry pipe sprinkler networks, pre-action systems, air supplies, and water pressure tanks. Outfitted with two independent Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) Form C snap-action switches, it tracks air or fluid boundaries across a variable range of 10 to 60 PSI. The device comes factory-calibrated for a standard system load of 40 PSI, triggering its “LOW” switch on a pressure drop to 30 PSI and its “HIGH” switch on a pressure surge up to 50 PSI to comply with NFPA code margins. The interior houses separate isolated wiring chambers and independent ground screws, safely accommodating completely dissimilar field voltages across the two contact pathways. Protected by a weather-resistant, UV-stabilized composite cover anchored to a heavy-duty die-cast base, the entire enclosure achieves a NEMA 4 and IP66 environmental rating. Field adjustments require no specialized tools, while the physical casing utilizes dual half-inch conduit knockouts, a non-corrosive nylon NPT fluid connection, and a security latch secured by specialized tamper-proof fasteners to ensure structural protection and code compliance.
