Description
The Rapidrop Fig. 214 is an industrial 6-inch (DN150) lug-type fire protection butterfly valve designed as a system control mechanism with minimized flow restriction and pressure loss when fully opened. Built with an independent, heavy-duty ductile iron lug body featuring threaded inserts around its perimeter, this valve installs directly to matching pipe flanges with individual bolts, making it ideal for dead-end piping networks and down-line maintenance isolation. The valve utilizes a slow-closing worm gear operator running a handwheel mechanism to actively suppress potential line water hammer spikes within the system. Fluid isolation relies on a premium, EPDM rubber-encapsulated ductile iron disc, delivering dependable bidirectional, bubble-tight shut-off under standard fire infrastructure working pressures up to 20.7 bar (300 psi). Suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations across horizontal or vertical configurations, the assembly is finished with a corrosion-resistant fusion-bonded epoxy layer and comes pre-wired with an integrated dual-circuit tamper supervisory switch linked to a 1-meter flying lead for seamless monitoring integration.
