The Ravel RE-314BI is a “fault isolator base” that serves as both a mounting platform for addressable detectors and a protective device for the signaling line circuit (SLC). It features an automatic switch that monitors loop voltage; if a short circuit occurs, the base detects the drop (below 14V) and opens the circuit to isolate the faulted segment, preventing the entire loop from failing.
