The Shield SD-DDNRV-PN16 Double Door Wafer Check Valve (3″) is a premium, space-saving plumbing and fire protection backflow preventer engineered to fit snugly between standard pipeline flanges. Constructed with a high-strength ductile iron body and twin spring-assisted D-shaped plates, this dual-disc (split clapper) mechanical valve responds quickly to changes in flow velocity. When forward fluid travel occurs, the plates pivot open around a central hinge pin; as flow decreases near zero, heavy-duty stainless steel torsion springs snap the doors shut for a non-slam, completely leak-tight seal. Rated for a maximum working pressure of PN16 (16 bar / 232 PSI) and fully coated inside and out with a corrosion-resistant fusion-bonded epoxy, it provides high flow dynamics, minimal structural wear, and versatile horizontal or vertical mounting options.
