Tyco 801PHEx Intrinsically safe Smoke & Heat Detector

The Tyco 801PHEx (Minerva MX Series) is a high-performance intrinsically safe addressable multi-sensor fire detector manufactured by Tyco Fire Protection Products (Johnson Controls) for hazardous, explosive, and off-shore industrial environments. Combining an optical photoelectric light-scattering smoke chamber with an electronic thermistor heat sensor within a static-dissipative enclosure, the detector monitors smoke obscuration and thermal rise simultaneously. Connected via a galvanically isolated MX addressable loop through an approved intrinsically safe (I.S.) barrier or isolator, the onboard microprocessor processes dual-sensor data to deliver rapid detection of fast-flaming blazes and slow-smoldering fires while suppressing false alarms caused by airborne disturbances. It features digital address programming via the 801AP handheld tool, dynamic optical chamber compensation, clear 360-degree LED status indication, and full ATEX, IECEx, CEx, LPCB, and MED marine approvals.
