Tyco 851PH Marine Smoke and Heat Detector Minerva MX

The Tyco 851PH (Minerva MX Marine Series, Part no. 516.850.055) is a high-performance analog addressable multi-sensor fire detector manufactured by Tyco Fire Protection Products (Johnson Controls) for commercial marine vessels, passenger cruise ships, naval fleets, and off-shore oil platforms. Combining a high-discrimination optical photoelectric light-scattering smoke chamber with an electronic thermistor heat sensor, the detector measures smoke particle obscuration and temperature dynamics simultaneously. Controlled by an onboard microprocessor running advanced algorithms, it provides dynamic signal evaluation to deliver rapid fire detection while resisting false alarms caused by steam, salt spray, or engine vibrations. Operating over a 20V to 40V DC MX addressable loop, it supports soft digital addressing via the 801AP/850EMT handheld tools, automatic optical chamber drift compensation, 360-degree status LEDs, and full MED (Marine Equipment Directive), LPCB, VdS, and major marine classification society approvals.
