Description

The Tyco Minerva MX 801HEx (Part No. 516.800.532) is an intrinsically safe analogue-addressable heat detector engineered for hazardous industrial, marine, and offshore fire safety applications. Forming part of the Tyco 800Ex / Minerva MX Series, the detector uses a high-grade NTC thermistor with low thermal mass to continually monitor ambient temperature variations and transmit digital signals to a Minerva MX / T2000 controller. System software evaluates these readings against selectable response modes (EN54-5 Class A1R rate-of-rise, A2S 60°C fixed, or CR high-ambient rate-of-rise). Certified for Zone 0 (gas) and Zone 20 (dust) hazardous locations via galvanic isolators, it features 360-degree LED status indication, programmable day/night mode switching, and full EN 54-5 compliance.

Features

  • Intrinsically Safe Design: ATEX and IECEx certified for installation in hazardous, potentially explosive gas and dust atmospheres up to Zone 0 and Zone 20.
  • Multiple Selectable EN 54-5 Modes: Allows panel-programmed mode selection between rate-of-rise (A1R, CR) and static fixed thermal threshold (A2S 60°C) to suit ambient space requirements.
  • Low Thermal Mass Thermistor: Incorporates a high-precision negative temperature coefficient thermistor that delivers fast and accurate thermal data directly to the control panel.
  • Advanced MX Digital Protocol: Transmits digitized temperature data using frequency shift keying (FSK) communication for reliable reporting and panel-side alarm evaluation.
  • Day/Night Mode Switching: Supports dynamic mode changes via panel software commands to adjust sensitivity between daytime occupied and nighttime unoccupied states.
